Welcome
ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with more than 40 years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families find hope, healing, and lasting change.I previously worked at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington, a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). My areas of specialization include Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), OCD, and anxiety-related disorders. In addition to working directly with clients, I provide guidance and support to parents, helping them better understand and effectively support their children. For more than 20 years, I have served as a Director of Training, providing supervision and clinical mentorship to graduate students. I also offer clinical supervision and consultation to mental health professionals, including individuals, groups, and group practices. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you. Together, we can develop practical, evidence-based strategies to help you move toward a more confident, fulfilling, and meaningful life.
APPROACH
Life can feel challenging and overwhelming at times, especially when you’re dealing with anxiety or depression. I highly value creating a warm accepting environment and work collaboratively with my clients to gain a deep understanding of who they are and the difficulties they’re facing. Building a strong, respectful therapeutic relationship is central to this process. My approach is to use evidence based treatments that best meet the needs of each person. Together, we identify and build on your strengths to better manage challenges, develop new perspectives, and learn practical skills for times when you feel stuck. This is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Other evidence based treatments derived from CBT include exposure and response prevention (ERP), mindfulness techniques, and comprehensive behavioral treatment (ComB).
LOCATION OF PRACTICE
Currently I am available through telehealth for those people who reside in Maryland.
FEES
I am considered “out of network” for insurance plans. If your insurance plan offers coverage for out of network services, I will provide you with documentation necessary to seek reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to inquire about your individual plan’s “out of network” reimbursement policies. Unfortunately, I am not able to process insurance claims on your behalf or accept assignment of benefits.
